DESCRIPTION:Join the WSU Tree Fruit Research and Extension Center and USDA-ARS Wenatchee for a field day Thursday Sept 23\, 2026. This file day will feature the new Tree Fruit Soil Health Long Term Agricultural Research and Extension (LTARE) site. The Tree Fruit LTARE site features two experiments focused on developing management systems that optimize fruit yield and quality through sustainable soil health management practices. This year we will visit our second experiment where we are identifying long-term sustainable approaches to manage soil borne disease and nematodes. \nLearn about soil health in orchards! \nPart of a tree fruit event focusing on current research projects by WSU and USDA at their Sunrise Research Farm in Rock Island WA. \nWhat: Educational event for growers\, packers\, consultants\, industry professionals\, university researchers and staff \nWhen: Wednesday September 23 @ 2:00 to 4:30 pm \nLocation: Sunrise Research Orchard 114 Sunrise Ct\, Rock Island\, WA 98850 \nWho: Hosted by Washington State University Tree Fruit Research and Extension Center \nFormat: Participants will be in groups and rotate through stations highlighting different research projects.
