Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG)

A competitive grant program that supports the development of new tools, approaches, practices, and technologies to further natural resource conservation. Grant funds of up to $1 million must be matched 1:1 with non-federal funding. There are two grant types within this program, the first that supports early stage innovation development, and the second which funds on-farm trials to support more widespread adoption of innovative conservation practices.

Eligibility

Applications accepted from state or local governments, federally-recognized American Indian tribes, NGOs, and individuals in the United States and its territories.
